Strategic Flood Risk Assessment Level 1
The event is not currently available for consultation.
The SFRA (Strategic Flood Risk Assessment) has been prepared to support the application of Sequential Test outlined in Planning Policy Statement 25: Development and Flood Risk (PPS25), and to provide information and advice in relation to land allocations and development control.
All forms of flood risk have been assessed: fluvial (rivers), tidal (sea), surface water, groundwater, sewers and impounded water bodies (reservoirs and canals), both now and in the future given the likely impacts of climate change.
Purpose of the SFRA:
- Inform the sustainability appraisals so that flood risk is taken into account when considering options in the preparation of strategic land use policies
- Propose appropriate policy recommendations for the management of flood risk within the Local Development Documents (LDDs)
- Identify the level of detail required for future site-specific Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) that support planning applications
Countywide information on the SFRA can be found at http://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/index.cfm?Articleid=17247
The SFRA includes maps displaying the flood risk within Cotswold District, which can be found on the County Council's website. They can be viewed at the following link: SFRA Flood Maps.
(Please contact the County Council should you experience any difficulty with their website/ using the maps, or try the first link above which contains more information on the SFRA).
